I am an island girl, living Between Cedars and Sea, where the rainforest tumbles into the shoreline and the rhythm of the tides marks the passing days.
I am an artist, graphic designer, mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and a collector of small wonders.
My inspiration lives in quiet places. Moss covered trails, seaside bluffs, fog drifting through the trees, distant foghorns and the scent of wood smoke. My inspiration is found in a hot cup of tea, in feathers carried on the wind, weathered driftwood, delicate fungi and lichen clinging to fallen branches.
My work begins with collecting. Driftwood weathered by the sea, feathers, fungi, lichen, bone and other fragments of the natural world that catch my attention. From these collections I create Curiosity Nature Vessels. Small worlds that bring together found natural elements, gentle sculptural forms and collected objects. Each vessel becomes a place to preserve a feeling, a memory or a fleeting moment that might otherwise disappear. I collect what nature leaves behind and give it a place to tell its story.
My art is rooted in curiosity and the simple act of noticing.
