Fine art landscape photographer Alys Williams had just graduated from high school when one of the largest acts of mass civil disobedience in Canadian history occurred. Almost 1,000 people were arrested in what would become known as the War in the Woods.

His paintings are inspired by the impressionists, the Group of Seven, classic children’s book illustrators and art nouveau poster artists. He has lived on Bowen for 20+ years. He paints in acrylic.
